If you need an investigation to go away, if you want to have farmers go bankrupt so you can buy massive tracts of land at a bargain, then all you need do is donate. Not thousandsof doallrs ….no. This is a minimum $1 Million buy-in and the more you pay, the more you get. .NLRB has several open investigations into Meta and Tesla for labor law violations. Now, after Trump illegally fired three of the Board members so that they do not have a quorum to convene meetings, essentially ensuring that companies can break labor laws with immunity, those investigations have evaporated. A big win for the billionaires that put Trump in office like Musk and Zuckerberg.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, which has assisted everyday Americans in recovering BILLIONS OF DOLLARS in illegal or improper charges, fees, etc. by unscrupulous companies, had several active investigations into Tesla initiated by consumers claiming deceptive loan practices. Now that agency’s funding has been cut and the bulk of its staff fired. How does that make government more efficient? How does that not present as a clear conflict of interest?
And the same is true for other agencies that have been decimated by huge budget cuts and mass firings. For example, the FAA had several investigations into SpaceX who has $13 Billion in government contracts (and 8 failed rocket launches). Those investigations are now gone since the agency has been all but defunded and short-staffed.
And in January, the SEC opened an investigation into Musk for suspected misleading Twitter (now “X”) shareholders before acquiring the platform. He had secretly bought back shares ahead of the sale. The SEC had already fined him $40 Million in 2018 for lying about his plans of taking Tesla off the stock market. Now, DOGE is auditing the SEC for “waste.” Are you detecting the pattern of BS yet? In fact, whether it is the SEC’s suddenly dropped investigations into cryptocurrency irregularities with people or companies that happened to donate millions to Trump, Agencies that were investigating Musk’s many companies for safety violations that are now defunded and no longer able to investigate, or Trump literally promoting Tesla cars on the White House lawn after the stocks plummeted in the most egregious abuse of power and conflict of interest imaginable, The Whitehouse now has a sign outside the oval office that says, “OPEN FOR BUSINESS.”
