Arlington cemetery is the final rest in place for over 400,000 veterans and their dependents from every war or conflict the U. S has been in sense the Revolutionary War. It’s a place of reverence… of honor… and of solemn remembrance for their sacrifice. Political stunts have no place here.
It is for that reason that cameras and photographing for political purposes and campaign footage is strictly forbidden. There’s an actual federal law on the books saying it cannot be used political purposes.
But to a man who dodged the draft, and who called veterans who were captured or died for their country in times of war, losers and suckers, who said the civilian Presidential Medal of Freedom is “much better” than the military Medal of Honor because recipients of the latter are often badly wounded or dead, and who refused to even pay his respects to their fallen brethren in a WW 1 cemetery for fallen Americans outside Paris, breaking that law meant nothing to him. His callous disregard for the memory of our heroes just adds to the knowledge of just how low he is willing to go to further his own agenda. It should be noted that he never made an appearance in the previous two years, but then again, there was no election he was trying to win at that time either.
In any case, he arrived at Arlington cemetery with his film crew to capture a moment of him placing a wreath for a campaign ad for the thirteen soldiers who were killed by Taliban (because of HIM) when we exited Afghanistan in a deal orchestrated and signed by Trump to the exclusion of the governing body we had inserted there. The casualties occurred under Biden’s watch, but the event was Trump’s doing. As usual, he struck the match and lit the blaze, but conveniently handed the matches to someone else when the someone was near. Biden, being the noble man that he has always been, fell on the sword and took blame, but make no mistake about it… the catastrophe was Trump. In fact, in the 2023 investigative report by the National Security Council, it was so stipulated that it was Trumps withdrawal of our soldiers during his term from from 10,000 to 2,500 that set the stage and his arbitrary negotiation with the Taliban against advice from the intelligence community and our military on the ground. He set the deadline. He signed the documents detailing the pull out. And he worked out the (lack of) logistics without listening to his military on the ground or the shadow government we had installed or our own intelligence briefings. He might as well have aimed the guns and pulled the triggers that killed those servicemen himself. When cemetery staff tried to get his film crew to stop and respect the fallen, they pushed them aside and verbally accosted them while continuing to shoot the film. THIS IS THE GOP’S GOD. THIS IS THE SLUG AND HIS ARMY OF DISRESPECTFUL, ARROGANT BOTTOM FEEDERS THAT THE GOP has elevated to be their Presidential nominee. Devolution has taken on a brand-new meaning.
Veterans were quick to show their concern for this ultimate slap in the face to them and their fallen brothers and sisters. Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Paul Eaton, a senior adviser at the political action committee VoteVets, called the campaign’s actions at the cemetery “nauseating.” “They see no issue bringing partisan politics there, even if it means getting into physical altercations with cemetery staff.,” Eaton said in a statement to USA TODAY. “I truly cannot think of something more repugnant than starting a political fracas on land where Gold Star families mourn. Someone who would do that should never be Commander in Chief.”
To add insult to injury, Trump and his staff then claimed the cemetery staff who told him the camera crew could not photograph the area for a political ad and physically stood in the path of the camera staff to enforce the law was “mentally ill.” Apparently, a verbal and physical altercation occurred. But regardless of whether it did or didn’t, one thing is for sure, He violated federal law and it was NOT in conducting his official presidential duties. We should PROSECUTE HIM TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF LAW!
It seems that every time I think I’ve witnessed the lowest level of depravity from this guy and his entourage of arrogant, careless, wingnuts, they manages to go one more level lower. A million years of evolution has simply slipped off their sloping cranial brow, falling to the floor with an audible thud, and still, no reaction. They truly do epitomize the flat-lined encephalograph depiction of a once relevant party.
