In fact, 140 authors and contributors to their manifesto were former Trump cabinet members or senior Whitehouse staff and advisors operating behind the scenes to push forward the Heritage Foundation’s agenda. The document is more like a “How to…” manual on how they will dismantle American Democracy and take over key operating safeguard agencies/departments using mindless flunkies whose only allegiance is to Trump without regard to legalities or Constitutional constraints.
The Administrative State of Project 2025
Let’s take a closer look at the inner workings of Project 2025. This group wields significant power and has some questionable tactics up their sleeves to achieve their goals. From backroom deals to covert operations, they’re not exactly playing by the rulebook. For example, their first call to action will be to declare a sort of martial law. To this, they will have the President invoke the Insurrections Act of 1807. This would enable the President to use the military domestically to round up and incarcerate ANYONE SUSPECTED OF MALICIOUS SPEECH AGAINST HIS GOVERNMENT. That’s right, Russian style political prisoners which Trump has already said he wants to do. So, no more 2 or more party system. IT will be the Trump Party, and any others will be jailed or put to death (the other part of the Insurrections Act.). Now you know why Trump said to his Christian Right gathering that they would only have to come out THIS TIME to vote…. after that, they would never have to vote again because “we’ll have it fixed so good you won’t need to vote.” Hint, hint!
They want to dismantle key Departments and agencies like the Department of Justice, the FBI, Commerce Dept., Education Dept, just to name a few. In others, they will fire everyone and replace them with political appointees that he can fire at will. The Heritage Foundation has already hired upwards of 10,000 Trump cultists willing to do whatever their leader says regardless of the laws and the Constitution. And those workers who had to take knowledge -based test in order to work in those Departments??? They will be changed to Trumps ‘Schedule F” which would strip them of their Civil Service protections and make them political appointees. They would then be fired without any way to protest their firing or appeal it. Instead, they would be let go and the flunkies would be installed in what we would normally call a shadow government.

The Lunacy of Project 2025 and the Deep State Conspiracy
Let’s talk about the sheer madness of Project 2025’s objectives and the flawed logic behind the Deep State conspiracy. Let’s break down why buying into this lunacy can have dangerous implications for American democracy. Spoiler: it’s more tinfoil hat than serious threat.
A small group of billionaire families, Uline’s owners, the Uhlien family; Hobby Lobby’s owner, the Green family; and the owners of Jockey apparel company, the Wallers are the main players in a secret society that is more like a deep state than anything Trump and his cohorts have claimed about the left.
These ultra rich Christian Right folks have a group called Ziklag. It is by invitation only. Recently acquired documents and videos by a group calling themselves, “Documented” found that the group is spending nearly $12 million to mobilize Republican-leaning voters and purge more than a million people from the rolls in key swing states, aiming to tilt the 2024 election in favor of former President Donald Trump.
The group has also provided funding to Alliance Defending Freedom, which is the Christian legal group that led the overturning of Roe v. Wade, plus the national pro-Trump group Turning Point USA, and a host of other far right groups supporting Trump.
According to the Ziklag files, the group has divided its 2024 activities into three different operations targeting voters in battleground states: Checkmate, focused on funding so-called election integrity groups; Steeplechase, concentrated on using churches and pastors to get out the vote; and Watchtower, aimed at galvanizing voters around the issues of “parental rights” and opposition to transgender rights and policies supporting health care for trans people.
In a member briefing video, one of Ziklag’s spiritual advisers outlined a plan to “deliver swing states” by using an anti-transgender message to motivate conservative voters who are exhausted with Trump. Their strategy is “…to conquer these mountains (a biblical reference to the Seven Mountains) and let change flow down from the top.”
Yet, the group is listed as a non-profit under the IRS tax exempt charity classification of 501 (c) (3) which specifically allows them to receive tax exempt donations without the need to report the source, and for the donors to be able to claim their donation as a tax write-off, but the catch, according to the IRS, is that they are “…absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office.”
It seems to me that they have violated the law and should be taxed accordingly and forced to show who their donors are.
The Threat to American Democracy
Here’s where things get real. The Administrative State and Deep State conspiracy pose a legitimate threat to democratic principles. From eroding trust in government institutions to potentially undermining the foundation of democracy, we need to be on high alert. It’s time to step up and defend our democracy from these shadowy influences. It is not simply enough to talk about it, there needs to be substantial legal work done to dismantle the mechanisms they wish to employ to accomplish their dastardly plan. The Insurrection Act of 1807 needs to be modernized to avoid another Hitler-style legitimate takeover of our Democracy. We need to root out those responsible for trying to undermine democracy. And we need to address the problem that is the Supreme Court which is, by far, the single most dangerous aspect facing democracy today. The once revered Branch of government has stooped to partisan politics, open bribery, and unethical behavior like none before. Setting term limits is a good first step. Increasing the number on the bench and then rotating by lottery might be another way to minimize unethical behavior. Impeaching the most egregious offenders of their oath would be an easy first step.
